Meet the Team

 
Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to 7JNs class page! Our staff team is;
Form Teacher - Mrs Nottingham                                    Teaching Assistants -  Mrs Turton and Miss McCoy

Each morning we greet pupils on the door as they arrive at school. After a warm welcome they are offered a bagel and drink to start the day as part of our Form Time. During this session we discuss what is happening during the day, including clubs which are available, alongside any changes to our usual routine. At 9am we enjoy reading in small groups with a member of staff until 9:15am when it is time for our next lesson.

‘Personal Development is a key and enjoyable part of each week for Year 7 and takes place on a Tuesday and a Friday. In these sessions, we work a variety of important life skills. This half term half-term our focus is on settling into our new school, communication and making positive social connections. We often spend time during Personal Development widening our social networks by working with our friends next door in 7MC.

Personal Development supports pupils in becoming respectful, confident, and empathetic individuals. It helps them to develop the interpersonal tools they need to navigate a wide range of social settings—at school, at home, and in the wider world.

Cookery is something our pupils look forward to every Friday, so far we have enjoyed making cous cous and chicken wraps together before taking them home to share with our families!
 
PE takes place twice a week on a Monday and Thursday, pupils take part in a range of activities with a focus on developing skills and teamwork. Autumn Term starts with Football and Boccia.
 
Pupils have greatly enjoyed exploring a range of instruments since starting Crosby High School. Our Music room contains drums, keyboards, djembe drums alongside a wide range of percussion instruments. At the start of Year 7 pupils are introduced to new musical terminology such as pitch, rhythm and tempo and how to demonstrate them across a range of instruments.
 
Science experiments involving paper chromatography and ice cubes have made this an exciting lesson for pupils! Each week pupils go to the Science labs for their lessons and enjoy putting on lab coats and goggles as they arrive.
 
Mrs Turton, Miss McCoy and I are very much looking forward to working with all our families during our pupils' first year here at Crosby High School

Pupils have made a wonderful start to life at Crosby High School. They have enjoyed getting to know their new surroundings. Spending time on the

 trampolines and visiting Pikachu, our Rabbit, are some of our favourite things so far! 

We greatly enjoy Maths lessons and using lots of different equipment.

       Reading for pleasure is a huge part of each morning.  We also enjoy Sensory Breaks during the day on our exercise bike and trampoline.
